Adagio for a King (Original)

Location: Botswana 

Samuel Barber's "Adagio for Strings" lead me to create this piece. The lion--a magnificent male in his prime--presented himself to me in the Kalahari in Botswana, but the music led me to the unusual color choices and direct gaze.  Lions are a favorite for this artist, but this is perhaps the most handsome male I have ever drawn
