Mother of Ituri (Original)

LOCATION:  Virunga National Park, Rwanda

This ancient culture has long been in place, observed by our own species, often abused, but recently elevated and brought to light by some pretty impressive and tough folks who spend their own lives and risk their safety to do so. Having seen these gorilla families up close, I understand the need to protect them.  You can feel the love between this mother and her child, sacred in any species.
