Watcher of Virunga (Original)

Location:  Virunga National Park, Rwanda

I never have enough time to sketch--never so true as when I was facing this 400 pound Silverback in the bamboo forest of Virunga. The time we spent staring at each other was some of the best time in my life, drawing or not.  I chose the cool hues to help convey the serenity I think we both felt in those sun dappled moments that are forever etched in my memory.
